 December 15, 2009 - During the regular season OLM and Gold matched up for an exciting overtime game that went down to the wire. The Championship game proved to be equally exciting with the two teams taking turns with the lead. However, it was the Bulldogs who surged late and took control of the game in the final minute to secure a 50-45 victory and the Championship hardware. This was OLM's second year in the league and the experience competing against older teams as 7th graders the prior year paid off. The Dawgs were too tough, too organized and too good to be denied in 2009.
The Gold team completed a successful 4-2 season and beat the Blue team in the Semis. Its only losses were to the very talented OLM Bulldogs.
OLM defeated St. Thomas More in the other Semi-final game. STM came out smoking and led by as much as 9 points in the first half until OLM unleashed its press and gained control of the game.
St Gabriels and Mission Dolores each won games in the league played and showed that they will be forces to be reckoned with in CYO competition.
